The Founder’s Story

With a unique career path merging together architecture, engineering and business management for more than 30 years, Nicolas Quintana has lived through the changes in construction, planning and designing buildings and managing an architectural firm. As an avid gun owner and shooter with black belts in Japanese Aikido and Korean Taekwondo martial arts, Nic understands not only how to use these skills to defend one’s self, but also how they can be used to strike out at others. Watching the daily news fill with stories of violent incidences across the nation, Nic saw a growing need for businesses to find the tools and means to protect their employees and clients. From his professional and personal foundation, he also saw how he could use his knowledge and skills to help provide those tools. So he founded QBS As-Builts.

QBS As-Builts provides electronic As-Built floor plan drawings to be used in a variety of ways, all to improve the safety of the workplace and preserve your investment in your business. At the client’s request, drawings can be made available to police and fire protection agencies for use in emergencies. Protection is planned, not just in violent Active Shooter situations, but also in natural disasters like tornadoes or hurricanes, or in the event of fire.

Nic is also available for makes Professional Consultations to help clients create emergency preparedness plans for their organizations. During his career as a licensed architect (State of Wisconsin), Nic Quintana developed a systematic approach to gathering field information and converting that information into AutoCAD electronic drawings that can be accessed online and through mobile devices by law enforcement agencies. Using his extensive expertise in building and safety codes, Nic designs egress paths and makes recommendations regarding layout and flow of a building to improve the safety of workers onsite. He also has the knowledge, skill and resources to design and construct safe rooms for the purpose of protecting personnel in an Active Shooter situation.

Taking proactive steps to improve the safety of the working environment may not only save people from injury or death, it might save a business from the threat of lawsuits and legal action.
